This project examined genetic variation in Helicoverpa populations using variation in mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) and variation in quantitative traits, and was supported by ARC as well as CRDC.

This project was initiated in 1991, following concern expressed by local cotton growers about suspected high insecticide resistance at St George.

Aims: 1 * Develop a simple mite management package using data collected relating mite infestations to cotton yield loss. * Complete development and validation of functional sampling procedures.

Project Objective: A new project with the objectives of: * to supply equipment to accurately weigh cotton from field trips.

Aims: (i) To evaluate the pest resistance of cotton cultivars bearing different combinations of morphological and allelochemical resistance factors in field experiments.
