The ARLP, like the Rural Research and Development

Corporations is one of Australian agriculture's great

success stories. It works because it is a partnership,

a shared goal of industry and government

Over the past ten years, many of our rural

industries have experienced productivity gains

that have occurred through sound investment

into programs such as the ARLP by the Australian

Government and its Research and Development

I am proud that my Department of Agriculture,

Fisheries and Forestry has been a long term

supporter of the ARLP. Strong partnerships and

support exists among the Research and

Development Corporations. These partnerships

allow emerging rural leaders to help our rural

industries build a sustainable future for Australia
