Black Root rot (Thielaviopsis basicola) BRR is a major threat to cotton production in southern and central NSW. It has a wide host range of more than 230 species of plants (Pereg 2013).

The Green Vegetable Bug, Nezara viridula, has recently become a more significant pest of Australian cotton but it is not a problem every season.
