For many in the agriculture industry around the world, an issue of significant concern is the sourcing of staff with the required skill set to assist in managing the operation of their farm businesses.

Australian agriculture is experiencing a labour and skills shortage, driven by an aging workforce, low attraction rates and strong competition from the resource sector.

The aim of this training was to build industry biosecurity capacity and provide a gap analysis for boll weevils.

The project titled 'Skills Profile and Labour Supply Structures on Cotton Farms' was funded by the CRDC and covered the period from March 2015 to August 2018.

This course has given me skills to continue in my role as workforce co-ordinator for Cotton Australia.
