The International Congress of Entomology (ICE) is held every four years in different countries in the world.

Drs Robert Mensah and Lewis Wilson were invited by on the Organising Committee of the

International Congress of Entomology Conference to organise a symposium on the

Cotton R&D Corporation funds for the project entitled ‘Operational Costs for Cotton Experiments’ were used to fund cotton experimental trials at the Australian Cotton Research Institute (ACRI).

The scientific exchange had the following objectives: *Examine farming systems relevant to tropical Australia, e.g. peanut / cotton on light soils, drip / overhead head irrigation, conservation tillage systems.

This preliminary six-month project was commissioned to investigate basic, entomological aspects of cotton production in the far-north Queensland (Richmond), environment.
