The Summer 2011-12 edition of CRDC's quarterly magazine, Spotlight gives an explanation of the Australian cotton industry, its organisations and their roles in R&D.

This project has part funded field operation costs charged by DPI to CSIRO for experiments on ACRI at Narrabri.

Sucking pests of cotton (aphids and mirids) that are expected to become more significant as the use of synthetic chemical sprays is replaced by the deployment of transgenic cotton.

The project objective was to contribute to production of Helicoverpa resistant cotton cultivars by identifying proteins capable of blocking insect digestion.
