Dr Christian was invited to attend the USDA-ARS's Helicoverpa/Heliothis (H/H) Meeting in College Station Texas on 7 and 8 October 1997.

The overall aim of the project was to carry out research to aid the safe and rapid adoption and implementation of genetically engineered viral insecticides into the Australian Cotton Industry.

The funds requested in the application were for Dr Christian to spend 6 weeks in the laboratory of Dr Art Mcintosh and Dr Carlo lgnoffo in Columbia Missouri, working on aspects of the project "Genetic Engineering
