This fact sheet outlines a Land & Water Australia project titled 'A bioeconomic analysis of the duration of conservation contracts'. The project aims to inform the decision-making processes of regulators using conservation contracts to protect remnant native vegetation. It focuses on monitoring to assess compliance and environmental outcomes, and to inform the duration of contract agreements with landholders. A simplified case study is used to explore these issues.

This report is the final report of the initial National Land and Water Resources Audit. It summarises the principal findings and describes some of the substantial uses already made of the Audit's information. Recognising the government's commitment to continue the Audit, suggestions are made for its future role.

The Saltland Genie website brought together the latest findings and conclusions about saltland management to provide the most reliable recommendations that are available. The website is the 'supermarket' for anyone shopping for saltland knowledge. It has been designed specifically to take advantage of the power of web delivery, with everything the 'shopper' might need, including a 'shop assistant' - the Genie - to direct you down the right 'aisle' and link you up the most appropriate information.

The Australian Native Vegetation Assessment 2001 details Australia-wide activities undertaken to implement a national vegetation data management and information provision system. Using the data compiled in this system, this report assesses the status of Australia's native vegetation and makes suggestions for continued development of the information system and its application in supporting natural resource management decisions.
